What Makes IITE Unique?

At IITE, whether you’re a new beginner or a communicator with experience, you learn in a classroom setting where Foreign Language (example: French, German, etc.,) is the only language spoken. This technique is called the Direct method and it is specifically designed to help you improve your practical Language Communication Skills. Using this proven teaching technique, you’ll be able to design speaking and communicating in Language in a very short period of time.

We are different from other Language Schools in the area since most of them use the Indirect Method, where Language grammar is taught using a vehicular language such as English. IITE capitalizes on this, with the belief that you’ll learn to communicate in Language at a much faster face.

Why Are There So Few Language Schools using the Direct Method?

Lack of Skill and Experience

The Direct Method is difficult for teachers to use, especially with beginners, because it requires a lot of planning and an acute understanding of how the human mind learns new languages. Teachers must have the ability to simplify their speech as they teach so that beginners can easily follow along. A good Direct Method instructor is attentive, analytical, practiced and accomplished in the specific Language.

Difficulty in Setting up Adequate Learning Environments In order to be successful, the Direct Method requires a particular learning environment that is carefully planned to promote student’s understanding of the Direct method approach, drive their determination to learn by using this theory and motivation throughout the course. Learning Language by Direct Method, although challenging, tends to be the most rewarding for students. Oftentimes language schools simply do not have the necessary resources at their disposal to creating the appropriate teaching environment and without it, students become irritated, impatient and discouraged.

What is the IITE Method?

We have researched many different Language teaching methods. After much hypothesizing, creating, revising, testing and evaluating we have developed a scientific and practical Direct Method, it is actually just one of many teaching methods here at IITE. Our method is “Eclecticism”, containing a variety of techniques and beliefs from a wide range of existing teaching methods. We call it the “IITE Immersion Teaching Method” and it was established from our many years of hands-on teaching experience, data gathering and analysis.

Why Full Immersion?

The more time you spend hearing Language, the more comfortable you’ll become with the sounds of the language. The more comfortable you are with the sounds, the better you’ll be able to identify and comprehend whole words. Every student in a full immersion class listens and speaks in Japanese, and therefore develops the most important skill in language learning: “thinking in Foreign Language”. Every minute in the classroom is a minute spent practicing Language – and the best thing you can do when you are learning a new language is practice, practice, practice!
